BLOWER!!! I was in total shock Jeanne! How the heck could it have been him? I totally did not expect that. Everyone seemed to be shocked on that one even Simon!

That just sucked. Obviously I’m just relieved David Cook was safe since DialIdol had him pretty low, but Michael should have been there much longer than this.
Also, I love Ryan Seacrest but I thought he was a jerk tonight when he did the whole, “last year at this time after Idol Gives Back we didn’t send anyone home” and then finished with “but Michael IS going home tonight”. That was just mean, giving the poor guy one glimmer of hope and then yanking it away.

Disgusting. Michael Johns is a gazillion times better than Jason or Kristy. I cannot believe this. I’m really disappointed right now.

I too felt bad about the situation, but than again, did you vote for Michael Johns? At this stage in the game, its a popularity contest. So if you didn’t vote, you shouldn’t complain!

Oh!My G. Kristy must have been eliminated long time ago. Michael is much better than Kristy, Syesha or Jason, This is unfair.

Michael is much much better than Brooke to add.

Michael Johns out? This is a shame! I was sure that Michael Johns, David Cook, and Carly Smithson are going to be the last three standing if it’s about talent.

That’s it! That is probably one of the reasons that there might not be an American Idol next year. It is becoming a popularity contest, not about who can sing. Jason sucks, looks loaded most of the time. Ayesha wants to be someone she is definately not(w.houston,Fantasia, etc)What gives. I am done with American Idol. I am not going to watch it or give it any more of my time or monies.

It’s a very disappointing and shocking result. I thought he was gonna stay at least to the top 3. Then I don’t have any reasons to continue watching American Idol season 7, c u next year!
American Idol: Michael Johns Goes Home
Apr 11, 2008 at 12:21 am
[…] Idol named its Top 7 this week, as Michael Johns was sent home on Idol Gives Back week, with Syesha Mercado and Carly Smithson joining him in the Bottom 3. This was probably the most […]

Sad to see Michael Johns eliminated so soon. He was my favorite, between the guys, although David Cook is good at times…, & was certain Michael would rank much higher towards the top of the heap of Idol casualties. I hope his music career will succeed with the amount of exposure that he has received from appearing on AI.

I have to join everyone else and agree on Michael Johns, But I’m one of those people that can’t understand the American public’s taste anyway. To me Sayesha is a much better singer than Fantasia so I didn’t get that whole thing. Fantasia trys to hit those high notes and she screams, but I guess some people like that. And Chris,Brown is supposed to be a good singer, please! He wouldn’t even make it on AI if he had auditioned. So I guess there is something wrong with me. I just sit there watching all this amazed!! And Jason Castro is still on the show-case closed. I’m done with AI,its definitely a popularity contest. Too bad, first few seasons were good.

Jason just sits down when everybody is standing and applauding Michael Johns. Dun like Jason at all anyway…He should be out long time ago…. Boring voice….

I was surprised this morning to find myself still mad about Johns - I’ve concluded I have to stop watching the elimination shows because the voting public is clueless (and I don’t need the faux stress!) heh.

Out of the bottom three last night Syesha should have gone. Michael was too good to go so early. I have a hard time believing he had the least votes. Brooke, Syesha or Kristy would have been alot more believable.

I have heard the songs that Michael sang thousands of times. And every one of those times they sounded just a little better than he did. He’s a very good singer but I never saw him do anything original on the show.

Should have been Brooke’s night to leave. I think 2008 American Idol is the year of the Davids.

Kristy Lee Cook should of been the one sent home. She cumpletely sucks. She is the new Sanjya. Can’t sing for ####.

He seemed good. But we all know Idol is more about popularity than singing ability so why all the surprise. It’s not like this is the first time or first person this has happened with. Unfortunately, there are many voters too tone deaf to know real singing talent. And voting is normally based on a person’s “likeability.” Like for instance, Syesha Mercado has a much more mature voice than many of this year’s contestants, yet she has been in the bottom three several times. From being in music since the age of five, I would strongly disagree with the voters that missed this, but at the same I respect each person’s preference. Btu I think we can all agree that this contest is not the most talented.

If it is about likeability then Michael Johns would have stayed. He’s a great guy. Even Simon could see that. The audience does have tone deaf folks in it but they are outweighed by the sheer numbers of voters. Does that mean the audience is perfect? No. The stock market isn’t perfect. Nothing is perfect. Taylor Hicks and Dougherty come to mind there. But they got it right this time.

It still hurts now for me to accept the best singer in Am Idol 2008, Michael Johns, was eliminated. Though he didn’t make it, he clearly gets the public attention now, and that’s his key to success. I’m sure that he will soon get a record deal, release albums, and I’ll buy his albums, surely !!

Someone must have counted wrong, the two best ones are\were Michael and David A. THERE HAD TO BE ANOTHER REASON. The way ryan treated him was uncalled for . B.C.

I wasn’t a fan of Michael at all, but I think he should’ve stayed at least longer than Kristy. (Hey, who DOESN’T deserve to stay longer than her…) But they won’t eliminate Syesha until a few rounds more, as AI doesn’t want to be accused of being racist. xD All of you people who are like: “Oh boohoo Michael is gone am like, soooo totally not watching this show anymore” You know you will. Pick a new favorite, I am not boycotting AI because Ramiele left.

I was fine with him leaving. Of course, I would have preferred it if Kristy left, but I was fine with it.

I didn’t realize Kristy was so controversial. She keeps getting better although she was very rough at first and almost got the boot numerous times. A lot of folks must want to see how good or at least “good looking” she’s going to get!
The girl did look pretty gorgeous this past week and she’s got the attitude to go big time. You are never going to see this girl cry.

I am boycotting the show, for sure. I can’t stand Kristy, and Michael was my favorite. No point in watching any more.

I didn’t think Michael would win, but I sure thought he would make it further in the show.
To have Kristy Lee left on the show when Michael got voted off is ridiculous!

It’s ALL WRONG but it’s all right…he was definitely one of the top 3. I think we should demand that IDOL GIVES BACK…MICHAEL! I just wish he would have picked a better song to showcase his amazing talent - I’ll be in line to buy his cd!

I dont know but I can sense whoever Simon Cowell & Randy Jackson choose to go, that talent leaves the stage disappointed & dismayed. It is too much of a coincidence that each time Simon or Randy commented that this contestant should leave, it happens.
I dont want this show… it sucks! I prefer watching Animal Planet… it’s fun to watch.
