American Idol 7 Top 11 – Amanda Overmyer

March 19, 2008 by Jeanne

Amanda Overmyer

Amanda Overmyer sang “Back In the USSR” and I think it was a decent song choice but I didn’t like how loud the backup singers were and Amanda’s singing wasn’t that great for me.  I think she’s a good performer, though.  Randy said that by the middle of the song, it got good.  Paula said she liked her uniqueness.  Simon said it was predictable and a bit of a mess in some parts.  He also told her that she was in danger of becoming a bit boring…

    I loved her….Rock on Amanda! She’s great.

no offense, but she already got a bit boring. She sounds the same every song she sings. the rock was unique and cool at first, but now that’s all she can do.

  3. Bouffe says:

I think Amanda is a very shy person, and it takes her a bit of time to get warmed up on stage. She always start her songs shaky, but by the middle of it, she finds her groove and kills it. I bet after 2 songs she probably is great on stage!

Her voice is definitely different, but I honestly didn’t think she would stay in the competition this long. I think she is this years sanjaya.
