American Idol 7 Top 11 – Carly Smithson

Carly Smithson sang “Blackbird” and it was good (not great) and I liked the modulation at the end. I hate that outfit, though… Randy said it was another great performance. Paula said that she has an amazing tone to her voice. Simon said that he thought the song was indulgent.

i think she’s a very strong girl and her voice will take her far. she’s def one of the best girls there.
I really like her, she has a great voice. I think her and Syesha are the best of the girls this season. There were two more I liked, but they are already kicked off. lol

This message is for all of you. First let me preference this with it is too bad the producer’s of the show are picking terrible genre’s. Two weeks of Beattles songs is too much for me. Second, I wish all of you would let your vocals out. All of you are playing it safe and like silent mouses. Everyone keeps waiting for you to hit the notes and really bring it home, only to be left with anticipation.
The judges keep saying this is the best American Idol contestant group ever. Based on all of your performances (except for the one John Lennon song by David Archuleta), I have to strongly disagree and think that your group is actually either the weakest, or safest playing group of them all.
