American Idol 7 Top 2 – David Cook

David Cook American Idol 7 Top 2

David Cook stayed true to himself tonight on the final performance show for the seventh season of American Idol.  He performed “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” along with the songwriter’s choice “Dream Big” and “The World I Know.”  It wasn’t his strongest night but I think he has a loyal fanbase (and a great future) to buoy him.  This could be a very close race.

Cook has won already.. :) Too bad it didn’t actually go the way “Fox” wanted it to.

    David Cook = 2008 Winner.

I’m about 99.95% sure of this, and please do not ask me how I know.

    Because of dialidol.com, Garry?

This is what sucks about being able to watch Canadian and American Idol.

I looooooooove me some David Cook but when he was singing I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For I couldn’t get Kalan Porter’s performance of that song (done on the same night) out of my head. Same as last week (I think) when he sang Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing, Jacob Hoggard KILLED it.

But yeah, based on last night. I think it’s David As competition…it sucks, but the kid is the best technical singer they’ve got. And that’s what it seems that Americans like to vote for.

  1. [...] Cook’s performances all night were pretty good, notably his performance of “Dream Big,” one of the Songwriter competition songs that could potentially be a “winning moment” song. In a rare occurrence, an Idol’s best performance was a “finale song,” which is usually one of the lesser performances on the night (see Blake Lewis performing “This is my now” and looking like he wanted to gouge his eyes out).
