American Idol 7 Top 6 – Jason Castro

Jason Castro chose “Memories” and Andrew Lloyd Webber made a joke about not ever thinking he’d ever see a man with dreadlocks singing this song – lol!!!! Jason seemed nervous and at first this was not working but he has moved up an octave and his little voice is cracking and I think he might have saved himself. Oh, the emotion. Randy said it was vocally like a trainwreck. Paula said that so many people are used to hearing the song sung by a female power singer but she likes that he sang it and showed his uniqueness. Simon said it felt like a very long two minutes where Jason looked like someone who was being forced to sing this song.

This guy just gets on my nerves for whatever reason. I don’t know if it is the dreads, or the look of constipation on his face when he sings, or the fact he is a poor-man’s version of Jack Johnson – but I am hoping he gets kicked off this week, although it will probably be Brooke. I thought he did the best he could with a 104 degree fever and a throat infection. But being the humble guy he is, he refused to make excuses and allow them to tell the audience about his illness. I’m with Jayne, he is very polarizing, either you get him or you don’t but the bashing is unnecessary.
I love Jason Castro. Thank you IdolStalker. If i was to stalk any American Idol Contestant, it would’ve been Jason. I love his music, his voice, his uniqueness, and especially his face!!! He was the reason I watched every week. I didn’t even vote after he was banished LOL
