American Idol 8 Top 7 Adam Lambert “If I Can’t Have You”

Adam Lambert chose to sing “If I Can’t Have You” from the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. It surprised me because I was expecting him to go all out for Disco Week. Weren’t you expecting him to be bouncing all over the stage? I love the lack of predictability!
Randy said that Adam is ready right now and that he has it majorly going on. Kara said that Adam was brilliant. Paula said that Adam chose to take a disco song and not make it cliche. Simon said Adam did something that no one was expecting, it was original and the vocals were immaculate.

I’m still a huge Danny fan, but week after week Adam has shown me that he has a ridiculous amount of talent. He’s amazing and this performance had my jaw on the floor. It wasn’t just the singing and the arrangement, it was the emotion he put into it. Jeanne, I know you’ll know the comparison when I say he reminded me of the way that Kalan Porter used to pour out so much emotion into his songs on Canadian Idol.

Magnificent. I have always hated that song, but couldn’t recognize anything about I disliked. The man IS ready, a true genius at taking old songs and making them totally new, current, his own and wonderful. Loved it.
Sherry – I totally get the Kalan Porter comparison. I even think of Jacob Hoggard, at times!

Adam is the best performer AI has ever had, and is always humble, polite, nice and greatful that he is on the show…HE IS THE SHOW….without him the show would be very very boring. He is the next big superstar….and will be worldwide.

Well Adam is probably the best this year and he is an actor, for sure. Not crazy about his Lyle Lovett’ish hairdo last night. My fav is Kris cause he is so darn cute and simple and has a good voice.
Overall though, this season is just the worst yet for ME.
Adam Lambert has such a beautiful voice and personality that I can watch and listen to him all day long without getting bored. He puts so much emotion into his performances that even his listeners get sucked into the songs he sings. I’ve never known any other Idol contestant to ever do that. He’s the winner hands down and he doesn’t even have to get to the finals…….vote him as the winner right now!!
Adam Lambert is a superstar already. I truly believe he will be a world wide sensation and can do anything he really wants to do, including singing, dancing, acting, Broadway. I will buy everything he ever records and can’t wait to see what direction he takes in the future. Judging from the glimpses we have to his personality, he will forge his own way and will be an inspiration to so many people. American Idol, win or lose, is just a stepping stone for an amazing talent like Adam.
