American Idol 8 Top 7 Anoop Desai “Dim All the Lights”

Anoop Desai, sporting a brand new dusting of facial hair, chose to sing “Dim All The Lights” and I think it was his weakest performance this year. I love Anoop and I think he’s got a good voice but this just did not work for me.
Randy said that he didn’t love the arrangement but said that Anoop can really sing. Kara said that it sounded like it could be on the radio and that the last two weeks have been his best performances. Paula said he looked fantastic and that his vocals were magical. Simon said that it was mediocre at best and that it was a horrible version of the song.

I just love Anoop Desai! He’s one of the best singers in American Idol Season 8!
I am a BIG Anoop Desai fan – and I think that he did a great job on this song. Flawless until the last note. Impatiently waiting to buy his album.
