American Idol Billboard Update – May 27, 2007

This weeks big mover??? It’s Elliott Yamin!!! Wooohooo! Elliott was snubbed by Clive Davis and Friends and released his album on an independent label (I’m sure “Miss Independent” Kelly Clarkson wishes she had done the same right about now). Even though Elliott did not appear on the American Idol finale, this week’s show may have given him a boost in record sales. Or… people have been buying the album and finding out it is awesome! I could go on and on but I can’t so here’s the rundown for this week:
Chris Daughtry — #10 (51,000 units)
Carrie Underwood — #11 (#2 Country)
Elliott Yamin — #20 (up from #67!!!) (#1 Independent)
Bucky Covington — #56
Fantasia Barrino — #91
Kellie Pickler — #100
WooooooHoooooooo! Go Elliott! Just love his songs!
Goes to show that rankings on idol do not mean a whole lot…with AI5 Kellie already outsold Kat….and I bet Bucky and Elliot will soon too since they are still building sales and Kat is not….and Chris outsold Taylor. And it looks like Paris is going no where even though she finished higher than Kellie and Bucky. Yep…ranking means nothing on idol in the long run. Voters are not the same as album buyers that is for sure. I have listened to all the albums…I really like Bucky’s album…they put together some fabulous songs and Bucky’s vocals are right on when he is singing the kind of music he should be singing.
Beat-boxing Blake and the fresh were absolutely wonderful. Mr. Lewis will be oh so famous.

Idol Fan – I hadn’t even thought to compare Kat and Kellie but when you put it that way, I guess you are right!!! Wow. I also completely agree – voting for someone does not mean you are going to buy their album. It’s a bit sad, in a way.
Liz – I gotta say that I agree with. Blake is gonna shine!
Oh my god! That is so awesome. I knew when Elliott got voted off that he would do fabulous! That boy has some amazing pipes!
Of course, Carrie is still doing great with her album. Her songs rock my sox!
