He is so talented and has the rare ability to really connect with the meaning behind the songs! What a wonderful treat his upcoming album will be – Christmas from the Heart!

It seems that there are still some diehards who want to perpetuate the Naomi Judd inspired myth that David’s dad is “a stage dad”. We’re talking about Naomi Judd, who not only ran her daughter’s act, but physically inserted HERSELF into it. But back to Jan’s misguided and backhanded “compliment”. To even suggest that David lacks “realistic emotion” when singing religious music is a just a tad disingenuous. Do we have a former “Cookie” here? That’s fine, but no need to disrespect a super-talented teenager.

You don’t have to be arrested, multiple girlfriends, drugs, etc. to have “realistric” emotions. David has strong emotions that are tied to music, family and faith and his strength of character is stronger than most adults I know. People can identify with him because he’s humble and authentic…how “realistic” is that? His father is around because David is 17, and he pretty much stays in the background. My parents didn’t abandon me at 17 either.

His voice is right on as usual. He just needs for his dad to give him a little space to live a little so his songs have more realistic emotions.
