From the moment she stepped in the audition room to try out, there was NOTHING fake about that girl. What you see is a true, genuine and humble young lady who is grateful for the success that has been bestowed upon her. What you may think is an "act" is part of what make Fantasia who she is. I read where the dish she said she never heard of and pronounced goofy, was one that she served in the resturaunt she worked in as a waitress.
