American Idol Flashback: Constantine Maroulis "Bohemian Rhapsody"

May 28, 2008 by Jeanne

This was my favorite performance from American Idol season four contestant, Constantine Maroulis.  I was totally shocked when he got voted off.  It’s not that I thought he should win but he had never been in the bottom and I thought he was better than some of the people that were left… Watch him perform “Bohemian Rhapsody

Agreed. I thought this was one of the top performances ever on American Idol. This was not just a song - this was a performance, and that’s what entertaining is all about. Simon has used many great words to express his appreciation, but this is the only time he has ever used the word “astonishing”. And it was.

This is the best performance ever on American Idol. There are some performances that have been done on the show that are some that are good, some that are extra good, but only one that is absolutely “astonishing”. I have yet to see a performance beat this one.

There have been some good individual performances since “Bohemian Rhapsody” but none has come close to setting the tv on fire as this totally amazing rendition. I think that I watched it 50 times and each time was as breathless as he was at the end. Wonderful, wonderful. Best ever.
