American Idol: Ryan Gets Kissed, Kara Fits In

Did you watch the season premiere of American Idol? What did you think? 
Well, it was a night of firsts. For starters, Kara DioGuardi was on the judges’ panel and, while there were some ridiculous moments (like her feeling the need to vocally compete with 20-year-old Katrina Darrell of Chino Hills, CA), I think 
she fit right in. I know some really dislike her but I barely noticed she was there. It was as if she had been there all along. What did you think?
Coincidentally, the other notable moment also comes from Katrina’s audition. The model/clothing designer decided that wearing a bikini would help her be different and memorable (uh huh) and, before going in to audition, she told Ryan Seacrest that, if she made it through to the next round, she would make out with him. He told her that he thought that was against the rules but she didn’t seem to care. After getting the reaction she was hoping for from the two male judges, Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson, she was given a gold ticket and came out in search of Ryan. She found him out by the pool and, well, planted a nice kiss right on his lips! Wanna see? Watch the video here:

I like Kara. She definitely fits right in. Surprisingly, I’ve enjoyed the first night. Haven’t seen anyone with potential yet but I’m actually looking forward for this new season.
