American Idol Season 8 Top 13 Results Show
March 11, 2009 by Jeanne
It was an interesting episode tonight. We heard about the new rule, we saw this season’s first Ford commercial, performances by Kanye West and Kelly Clarkson and, of course, the two eliminations (pictures and video coming soon).
The first bottom two consisted of Jasmine Murray and Megan Joy. Megan didn’t have to sweat too long because Ryan told her she was safe. Jasmine performed and Ryan told her she would be eliminated unless the judges chose to save her. No pressure! Of course, Randy told her she was going home and we got to hear Carrie Underwood sing “Home Sweet Home” for the first time this season.
The second bottom two consisted of Anoop Desai and Jorge Nunez. Anoop was declared safe and Jorge was forced to sing “Never Can Say Goodbye” again. I always feel sorry for the people who have to sing after learning they’ve been eliminated. Simon confirmed that the judges were not going to save Jorge with their vote veto and he was sent home.
What do you think? Did the right people go home? I agree with Jasmine but I was sad to see Jorge go home so soon.

Thot Jorge shld deserve a 2nd chance.
I think its ridiculous Jorge was sent home! I would have loved to have seen him more! Its a pity he had to sing Michael Jackson his first performance, since that is so far from his style! Just not fair, especially when worse singers remain in the competition like Scott. He’s only there for the publicity and because people think its cool that he’s blind but no one pays attention to the fact that his voice is only mediocre.
Thought Kelly Clarkson performed “My Life would Suck Without you” just great on last nights results show. Love her new album “All I Ever Wanted”
So many Alumni’s of American Idol have albums that just came out. Diana DeGarmo’s “Unplugged in Nashville” is now available on CDBaby.com and also on Itunes. Great new project from Diana DeGarmo of American Idol Season 3.
Really enjoyed last nights results show.
I SOOO agree about Scott. I was annoyed at the embarrassing amount of praise he got for his boring, unmemorable, mediocre at best voice. He certainly never moved mountains…It’s annoying because people should win for their TALENT not for their handicap.
