American Idol’s “Michael Jackson Week” To Be Rebroadcast by Fox

June 26, 2009 by Jeanne

During the results show of So You Think You Can Dance, it was announced that the Top 13 American Idol performances during “Michael Jackson Week” would be rebroadcast by Fox this Monday at 8pm to honor the artist who tragically died yesterday.

You may remember it well since there were some stand out performances (Adam Lambert’s “Black or White” comes to mind) and two contestants were sent home that week.

Here’s a list of the performances.  Do you remember which ones you liked the most/least?  I think the encore of this episode is a really nice tribute to Michael Jackson’s career.

LOVED this ep, one of my favs.
“Black or White” cemented Adam as a superstar in the making, and it truly was in a different league from everyone else. The judge’s comments, him tearing up after it, … all very emotional.
Other great performances: “Dirty Diana” – Alexis Grace (How didn’t she go further?!), “Human Nature” – Matt Giraud, “P.Y.T.” – Danny Gokey, “Give Into Me” – Allison Iraheta and I guess “The Way You Make Me Feel” by Lil Rounds was pretty good, too.

I’ll miss him. I grew up listening to his songs, watching his dance. I hope, your songs will live in our generation.. You will be remembered through your music forever. Everybody loves him from all over the world! Rest in peace…

This was such a good show ! I loved Adam and Allison’s performances the most that week but I think Matt was pretty good too. The studio versions of those songs are among the ones I listen to the most including Alexis’ version of Dirty Diana which sounds better than when she performed it live.

You didnt know him personally, so why are you making it sound as if you did know him?
