Australian Idol Anthony Callea Cast in "Wicked"
February 15, 2008 by Jeanne
Australian Idol favorite, Anthony Callea, has been cast in the upcoming Australian production of Wicked, which will make its premiere at Melbourne’s Regent Theatre July 12, 2008.
The play sounds intriguing since it is based on the Gregory Maguire novel that explores the lives of the witches of “Oz.” Yes, that “Oz.” The stories of how Glenda (the “good witch”) and Elphaba (the “wicked witch of the west”) took up sorcery, became roommates and entered the Emerald city.
Interesting, huh? For more information visit www.wickedthemusical.com.au.

Hey Jeanne, thanks for posting about it we are pretty excited about him being cast in Wicked. Have you seen the show yourself in the USA, it seems a lot happened before Dorothy dropped in. haha.
This will be his 3rd Musical in less than a year, and theres also news of album # 3 on the way. He is currently one of the mentors on the US version of Duets which is It Takes Two. So a busy year ahead and very exciting.
