Australian Idol Star Anthony Callea’s Break Up

Australian Idol star, Anthony Callea, is a free man! After three years together, he and his boyfriend, Paul, have decided to part ways. Here’s what he had to say about it:
"I am officially single as of a week-and-a-half ago," Callea crowed. "You know … s–t happens. It’s onwards and upwards for me from here."
Paul worked for Australian Idol as a talent coordinator in 2004 which is how the pair met. They moved in together but Anthony only spoke publicly about it after he was "outed" by a traffic reporter on a radio station.
A source is claiming that the breakup was no shocker to those who new the couple: "Paul was besotted with Anthony but Anthony treated him like s–t," the insider said. "He’s pretty arrogant and spoilt and Paul put up with it for a long time."
Wow! Those are some pretty harsh things to say about Anthony! What do you guys think?
Hi Jeanne, I actually don’t like the article as its not factual by any means, they have added the Unamed Source, just so it illicits a reaction, which it did do.
In all fairness to Anthony, is it possible to take this down as its about in so many places already it doesn’t need to be anywhere else, especially a nice site like yours.
I have met him on many occassions and he the absolute opposite to what alledged sources are say.
Just check out a message he left for his fans today on his forum. Its his 25th birthday today and he is much loved. You can see for yourself how down to earth he is.

Di, I wouldn’t worry about it. I’m a Clay fan and we’ve learned to take any and all newspaper or any articles with a very big grain of salt.
Anthony is a great performer and seems like a lovely person. That’s all that counts.

Actually i would love to hear what paul has to say on the break up with anthony, this is not the first ime i’ve heard about anthonys arrogance. I feel for paul and i also feel for tims former partner of 11 years. They are the ones i feel for not anthony or tim because personally i think anthony and tim were seeing each other behind their former partners backs. Please its just to coincidental that they both broke up with their former partners at the same time and barely 6 weeks later oh yeas anthony and i are together . I’m sorry but i dont believe them. And yes anthony has done alot of good things and hes an excellent artist. And his attitude shit happens its onwards and upwards for me from now on.It seems to me he was just so cold about his break up he went from paul i love you for eternity to that attiude and then hes ooh tim tim tim.I dont like what he did to paul.
Sorry Helen, but Tim had actually broken up with his partner BEFORE he even met Anthony. He was interviewed on radio just before the start of Rent and mentioned he was single.
As for being cold about Paul, perhaps his comment of ‘Sh!t Happens’ was his way of not having to answer, and stopping, painful questions by reporters..and insensitve people.
It’s helena .Ok fair enough tim broke up with his partner before the start of rent,thats the first time i have heard of that in any of the forums. I still think anthonys attitude is cold.Anthony was still with paul when he met tim in rent. I just think that paul needs someone on his side and i do feel for him.Like i said anthony has done alot of good things. It’s just my opinion i hope paul has found someone new who will love him and give him the resoect he deserves, after all if paul was vindictive he could have made alot of money out of selling his story about his relationship with anthony. Both anthony and tim should count themselves lucky that their former partners didin’t do that.
You don’t know the full story. As late as the last day of Rent Anthony was all excited about going home to Paul.
Did you happen to know that Paul and Tim’s ex actually worked together…
As for selling the story, perhaps there was no story to sell, simply the natural end to a relationship started when one of the men was very young (21) and very vunerable.
I didn’t even realise that anthony and paul had split up until i heard that anthony and tim campbell were together. I had heard that paul and tims ex worked together on idol when anthony was in the 2004 idol competition.So i would assume that anthony knew tims ex already.Does any one really know the full story Dara. You seem to know quite alot about what happened, as you said that anthony was excited about going home to paul as late as the last day of rent.Myabe you are friends with anthony.But as i have said it is only my opinion.
People talking about Anthony’s former relationship with Paul and his relationship with Tim now, and Tim’s former partner, please get on with your own lives and let Paul, Anthony, Tim and his former partner get on with their lives. It is no one else’s business except theirs what happened. It’s extremely unfortunate that once a person becomes a celebrity, their private life ceases to be private and becomes the target of unnecessary and unfounded gossip – and that’s what this is. Ending a relationship is never easy and usually sad for both parties. Playing the “blame game” doesn’t serve any purpose at all but causes more hurt and upheaval.
hi bja i was only replying to Dara we are allowed our opinions.Unfortunately when you are a celebrity you do become public property to a certain degree.I hope their all happy.Hopefully tims former partner is ok, as tim said he was very worried about him.11years is along to be time in a relationship and then to end it.And to be fair tim and anthony got together very quickly after anthony and paul split.But as i said that is my opinion which i am allowed to have.Thats not to say that i dont think anthony hasn’t done alot of good he has and he should be proud of himself for all that he has accomlished in his young life.
