Barry Gibb on American Idol This Week

Last week, I almost had a coronary over having Bon Jovi on the show but this week Barry Gibb will be on American Idol and I am, again, thrilled! Gibb, which many will know from his days as a Bee Gee, has one of the most memorable and recognizable voices of this century with hits like “Stayin’ Alive,” “How Deep is Your Love” and “Night Fever.” I LOVE THE BEE GEES AND I LOVE BARRY GIBB! The soundtrack for “Saturday Night Fever” which largely features Bee Gee tunes, was the number one album for my year of birth. Very cool.

More recently, many might have had a good laugh at Gibb’s expense when Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake performed a couple of satirical sketches featuring Barry and his brother, Robin. In case you missed it, here’s one of the videos. I laugh every time I watch it. It’s actually pretty accurate. I like the original version better so if someone has it, let me know!

I’m glad Barry had a chance to be featured on American Idol. I believe that Barry is a great songwriter, in his own right, but I too miss the days:
