Canadian Idol 6 Results Show – July 2, 2008

Canadian Idol eliminated four more contestants tonight. The show said goodbye to Lisa Bell, Paul Clifford, Jesse Cottam and Jessica Sheppard.
I was a bit surprised by some of it (Jessica!) and disappointed to lose my fellow Calgarian (Jesse) but I think I understood what happened with Lisa and Paul. Paul didn’t pick the greatest songs and Lisa has a great voice but needs to stop overdoing things. *sigh*
What do you think of the results?

I thought Jesse would make it through. Although his song pic was great, he didn’t ‘give it’ enough. There were enough other contestants that were pretty crap that he should have made it through last nights bunch.
At least, CI gave Paul and Jessica a chance to be heard. Paul may not be mainstream, nor am I, but given a chance, and a couple more weeks, he could changed a lot of people minds. Sorry, also for Jessica, who was there for 2 years in a row with Paul. Please, Jessica, don’t give up, follow your dream until you reach it.
Paul, I love all your songs and listen to them regularly, better get some new one out soon, and when I say soon, I mean pretty soon…

I wasn’t really surprised at the results. None of my favourites went home, so I’m not too upset.
I like the fact that they’re doing something more interesting with the results shows. Having the judges pick their favourites was nice, too. I’d rather see the strong performances than the weepy, off-key “goodbye” numbers! (I didn’t agree that Oliver’s performance was one of the best, but the rest were good.)
I did think too that jesse will make it. Well will see what it will end up. I love to watch it.
