Canadian Idol Brian Melo’s Album Preview!

How did this happen so quickly? How is it that Brian Melo, who was crowned just a couple months ago, has an album coming out on the SAME DAY as American Idol runner-up, Blake Lewis????
Okay, I’m over it and I have some things to say. Ahem… I didn’t really like Brian, okay? I didn’t dislike him but he just wasn’t my favorite. You know how it is – it’s nothing negative but some people just speak to you and others don’t. I just didn’t really want him to win Canadian Idol.
Well, let me just say that this album is good. I mean, I actually really like it. I was wrong, mes amis, wrong. I am sorry. Je suis desolé. There, I’ve said it in both official languages.

Come back and let me know what you think. Here’s my quickie review – My favorites are "Shine," "Summertime," "Obvious," "Stay," "Century," "She Moves Me" and "Emily." I do have to say, though, that I really hate the song "Livin’ It" which is too bad because it’s the title of the album.
The album is decidedly Canadian. You can hear a bit of Chantal Kreviazuk and Our Lady Peace in there but there’s other influences also.

Im about half way through and not a bad song yet. Wow. Not only for an idol CD but one that was made ridiculously quick, I dont know how this is possible, lol.
I agree Kim. It’s pretty ridiculous! I don’t know how this is possible! I’m glad I’m not the only one

i dont know, every song really sounds the same, and they’re mostly all depressing breakup type songs. sorry brian… thumbs down.

I love Brians new cd. I purchased it on the first day released. I am a mother of two sons 19 and 21 and watched and voted many many times,around 300 or so each night of the canadian idol show. I really wanted the cd for our collection and watching the show I feel he was a part of our family,who we don’t get to see much anymore.I loved that on the cd you can really hear him sing and his words, the music is behind him, not drowning him out. Love it. I will be buying the cd for everyone on my Christmas list for sure. Good luck to Brian and hope to see you in and around Hamilton doing the great job you are doing. We are proud.
i don’t want to compare but i was in love with jordin when she was on AI and i didn’t like brian at all when he was on CI but now both of their albums are out i have to say that brian stuck to what he does best “depressing breakup songs” to quote V. where as jordin did sumthing VERY different than i expected her to do so her album for me is very very very commericial and ppl with higher expectation will criticize her album to death. I totally agree with Daphne reguarding the music is behind brian and i can really hear his voices and some of the raspiness quality he posess. again jordin has a BEAUTIFUL voice and i am 100% sure she has more vocal skills than brian but in the majority of the songs her voice is too edited.
p.s. Just so ppl don’t get me wrong, I LOVE JORDIN but not her album. now i LOVE brian as well.
I just listened to Brian’s new C.D and I loved it I can’t wait to buy it or get it for Christmas lol!!!
OMG!!! I just love Brian Melo just in General and i love his MUSIC!!!!!!! LOVE BRIAN MELO!!!! i have a frame pic of him from the concert asnd i just would love to meet him and i love the cd i bought it a few days ago!! and i knnow a freind who knows Brian Melo!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
