Canadian Idol Results – August 14, 2007

Tara Oram was eliminated from Canadian Idol tonight. No shocks, no surprises. I’ll upload the video later tonight because the silence following her elimination was, sadly, a little funny. It’s like the audience forgot, for like 15 seconds, that they should boo. Sorry, that’s so mean but I was so stunned I couldn’t help but laugh.

I agree that it was time for Tara to go. My only fear is that her leaving might increase the Jaydee fan base since he’s the only country singer left. I hope I’m wrong.

I think that Jaydee stayed at Tara’s expense, but I thought that she was the second worst last night so I’m not really disappointed that she’s gone. I think she left pretty gracefully and she’ll have success in her niche.
I’m also glad that Brian’s finally getting the recognition that he deserves (from most of the judges, anyway), as he’s no longer in Greg’s shadow (not that I’m happy about Greg being gone or anything), but I can’t help but notice that we’ve never seen him without a hat on. I even googled photos of him. I know it’s because he’s probably balding, but it’s not a very good strategy because now I’m imagining him with all sorts of deformities (not that it would affect his ability as a performer, my imagination is just wild, haha). Anyways, I need to stop thinking out loud and get to bed!
Oh and Jeanne: Don’t worry about the videos, I don’t think anyone really wants to suffer through this week’s show again. I come here for your commentary and everyone’s opinions, anyway.

So our mission, should we choose to accept it, is to find a photo of Brian Melo without a hat so Kimmy can stop worrying about strange forehead deformities.
I’m going to pee my pants, lol!!!!!!! I have been wondering if there is a reason why Melo always has his “Cuban dictator” hat on (I’ve nothing against Cuba, for the record). I think Dwight should be the one wearing the hat
I gotta admit, Weirdgrrl may have a point – Tara fans may move over to Jaydee. She did say something like “Country music is still alive and well” (like we needed her to save it) so… ugh
How is Matt still on Canadian Idol! He is the worst of them and even the judges know it. I was shocked Greg was sent home.What is wrong with the people in this country! I thought Greg would at least be the runner up but Jaydee will win.He has talent and is extremely cute!
Well finally, someone who sang badly was actually eliminated. I can’t believe Jaydee didn’t even make the bottom 3 however. I don’t think he ever has. And the crowd cheering when his name was called is disturbing. I really think he is going to win this thing. Now he seems like a real nice kid and he does have a good voice if he’d get rid of the twang but he’s so stiff up there. He has had several “off performances”. Hardly worthy of winning the whole thing. At this point, I can only see Brian as the winner. Now off to look for those hatless pics……
Thank god Tara is gone. I’ve been waiting for ages for her butt to get da boot! Her performances were always so boring and her singing mediocre.

I could not agree more about Dwight being the one who needs to wear a hat. My mom, bless her heart, can’t remember anyone’s name so she calls him Frank, after Frankenstein’s monster. I do like him so I feel bad for finding that funny!
And I swear, I will bake cookies for anyone who finds me those pictures.
I am back just to say that I warned you all about how bad “Canadian idol”would be. They all should go home NOW
I totally disagree with R.R regarding his comment about Matt Rapley being the “worst of the contestants”. I respect the fact that everyone is entitled to an opinion. However, R.R seem to be still dreaming. Isn’t he / she aware that it’s the votes that decide a contestant fate, and not people’s opinion ?
Brian is THE BEST of the remaining contestants, Hope he wins the title
