Canadian Idol Results Show – June 27, 2007
June 27, 2007 by Jeanne
Wow. Tonight’s Canadian Idol results show was a bit of a shocker (for the girls especially). The bottom 4 guys were Clifton Murray, Derek Hoffman, Justyn Wesley and Andrew Austin. The bottom 4 girls were Maud Coussa-Jandl, Naomi-Joy Blackhall, Christine Hanlon (a surprise) and Mila Miller (wow, that really surprised me).
Who went home? Find out after the jump!
This season’s first eliminations were:
Derek Hoffman
Justyn Wesley
Maud Coussa-Jandl
Christine Hanlon
I was really disappointed to see Derek and Christine go

Who cares anyway? Tyler, JD and Montana are in there, the rest are just fodder.
Dave – I reluctantly must agree. I would add Liam Chang to the list, though.
It is disappointing to see Christine leave when she took that last spot instead of Jessica Sheppard.
That’s probably why Christine didn’t get the votes. The show was edited to make people dislike her for taking the final spot away from Jessica and therefore refusing to vote for her. So unfair. They should have just eliminated them one by one without all the drama. The shows edit always affects the voting outcome. There is also a lot of vote splitting for the Ontario finalists which is another problem for them. People do tend to vote regionally at first until they get to know everyone.
My bad. I think Liam was awesome too and should have been included in my shortlist.
what was the name of the nerdy guy that was made fun of when he auditioned because he was wearing that blue striped shirt, and what song did he sing for his audition
I thought that both of the guys deserved to go, but I was a little shocked to see Christine leave. I was REALLY shocked to see Mila in the bottom 4 though. I personally thought she was one of the best on Tuesday night. And I know I’ll take a lot of crap for this, but I don’t really get why people like Montana. I mean, I know she’s unique and all, but her vocals need work. I really like Greg, Liam, Mila and Khalila.
Canadian Idol is a frustrating show. The judges obviously do NOT like mainstream singers, nor do they like a mainstream song. If you’re quirky, kooky or odd, you have an advantage with the judges. To them (and maybe its accurate), you need a gimmick to sell records. I always thought that a good singing voice was a good idea too. The fact that Jessica Sheppard was not selected proves that Zack, Farley, Sass and Jake aren’t as smart as they think they are. Instead of fabulous singers, we get freaks, weirdos and kookie birds. BORRRING!!! There was a reason why the judges shut out Jessica Sheppard, and it would be interesting to know what the real true reason was. I think that they were frightened of her mother, thinking that she might go nuts on one of the shows if Jessica got eliminated. They couldn’t risk it. What other reason would they have eliminated the best singer they had??
I DON’T agree with the girls, but the men I saw coming.
