Canadian Idol Returns Today With Some Changes!
June 5, 2007 by Jeanne
It’s June 5th which means that Canadian Idol returns to CTV!!! The season will start with 2 weeks of auditions followed by a two-night review “Top 200″ in week 3 which will, ultimately, leave us with this year’s Top 22.
There have been changes to this new season. The first change is the most interesting. This year, contestants will be allowed to audition and perform using instruments. The judges feel it will give them a better idea of what the contestants will sound like with music. Australian Idol has the same rules.
The other change is that the new “roving host” to accompany Ben Mulroney will be comedian, Dave Kerr.
Here’s the schedule:
- Tuesday, June 5 – 90 minutes of auditions! (Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, Winnipeg, St. John’s and Halifax)
- Tuesday, June 12 with 90 minutes of auditions! (Saskatoon, Montreal, Vancouver and London)
- Top 200 episodes air Monday, June 18 and Tuesday, June 19
- Top 22 performances air Mondays/Tuesdays beginning June 25
- Top 22 results air Wednesdays beginning June 27
- Top 10 week one airs Tuesday, July 17 and Wednesday, July 18
- Shows move to regular Monday/Tuesday timeslot on July 23
