Carrie Underwood Report - November 12, 2007

Once in a while, I’ve got more than one story to report and this time it’s about Carrie Underwood! 

First of all, I want to congratulate Carrie on being named the Country Music Association’s "Female Vocalist of the Year" for the second year in a row!

“God has blessed me with so many wonderful things,” Carrie said at the star-studded Nashville, Tennessee event. Sharing the spotlight with her was Kenny Chesney who won this year’s Male Vocalist of the Year, as well as a veritable who’s who in those in the music industry. "If you told me a few years ago I had been nominated with the people I’m nominated with, I would have called you absolutely insane,” said Underwood. In addition to her repeat title, Carrie’s hit single, “Before He Cheats” was also honored as CMA’s “Single of the year.”

Second, I am pleased to let you know that a Carrie Underwood/Keith Urban tour has been announced!  They will begin the 24-city tour in 2008 and, so far, it’s being called the “Love, Pain & the whole crazy Carnival Ride Tour,” (it combines the name of their two most recent albums).  Tickets are set to go on sale on December 1st.

“I’m looking forward to hitting the road with Carrie, and to bringing our audiences together for what I think will be a magical night of sights, sounds, songs and solos,” said Urban.

“I can’t think of a better person to begin 2008 with than Keith,” shares Underwood. “He is an amazing entertainer and a well-respected musician, singer and songwriter.”

Wow!  I would love to go to this show!  We’ll see if they stop close enough to me for me to get there :)
