Carrie Underwood’s new video – Just a Dream
August 7, 2008 by Sherry
Carrie Underwood’s newest video is a little different than the last few have been. The video for “Before He Cheats” was exciting and empowering. The video for “My Last Name” was humorous. However, the new video for “Just a Dream” is a complete tear jerker.
The song and video follow the story of a young girl who was supposed to marry her boyfriend but he never makes it home from the war, and she sings that this can’t be real, it has to be “just a dream”. The first part of the video shows Carrie in a wedding gown and veil slowly walking towards a young man in uniform, but as the song goes on, it morphs into her wearing a black dress walking towards a casket.
A bit heavy to watch first thing in the morning, I must admit, but as usual, it’s a great song, great video, and Carrie pulls off looking like a grieving, heartbroken girl – maybe there’s acting in her future?
What do you think of the video?

WOW. yeah a bit too much depressingness for the morning. but it’s really really really good. and yeah, she can act well. funny that’s exactly how i pictured it when the cd came out and i first listened to that song. crazzy. she’s so goooood.. (:
and for your article, carrie’s song’s just called “LAST NAME” not “MY last name” (:
and SHERRY, are you the new writer for JEANNE? where’d JEANNE go ??
Don’t worry, Jeanne will be back soon, she’s just having some well-deserved computer-free relaxation. I’m just temporarily filling in!
aw, this was reallly good. Carrie did it again.
okay this song makes me cry my heart out its just that sad i had these exact visions of what the video would look like
i sobbed. it’s what i’m going through, my worries. i’m newly engaged, unofficially, and he’s going off to the military. let’s just say when i heard the song on the radio i sooooobbbed, thinking it was a normal wedding nice song nd was caught off guard
