This year the New Orleans Saints walked away the big winners at the 44th Superbowl, but before they took to the field Carrie Underwood sang the national anthem.

Last night at the 2010 Grammy Awards two American Idol alumni took to the stage at the same time and the result was, well, spectacular to say the least. Both Carrie Underwood and Jennifer Hudson were part of a special Grammy tribute to Michael Jackson and they both blew me away.
Along with Celine Dion, Usher, and Smokey Robinson, Carrie and Jennifer sang Michael’s planet-conscious “Earth Song” with Michael singing on another track. Today (January 18, 2010), Carrie Underwood performed on Live With Regis and Kelly. Naturally it was a re-run due to the holiday, and I’m glad they chose to show Carrie. Regis referred to her as the “American Idol turned music superstar” and that’s no lie. There have been many post-Idol successes over the years but Carrie just shot straight to the top and the number of album sales and awards she’s won is astounding.
Carrie performed “All American Girl” and I thought she did a great job. She also looked absolutely amazing. I love what she’s wearing and she was gorgeous.

I can’t believe that American Idol kicks off season nine next week, it feels like it’s been a long wait. I think part of the problem for me is the fact that Canadian Idol hasn’t been on for a couple of years, and that show used to fill up the gap for me in between seasons.
Still, the new season is right around the corner and soon we’ll all be picking our favorite Idol contenders and for those of you who are American, frenzied voting will begin a few weeks later.

I’m so excited to hear that Carrie Underwood is reportedly engaged to Mike Fisher, her hockey-playing boyfriend of a year and change.

Although no one in Carrie’s publicity camp has formally confirmed it they haven’t denied it either, and meanwhile, Mike himself has confirmed his engagement to Carrie. He responded to queries by saying, “It’s true. We’re both obviously excited and very happy.”

On Monday night, Carrie Underwood’s All Star Holiday Special aired on Fox and she helped to bring back the old-fashioned variety show, featuring guest singers and skits. I’ve been able to find some video clips to share with you in case you missed it!
First of all, I had to show you Carrie Underwood singing “O Holy Night”, one of my all-time favorite Christmas songs. Her voice gives me chills in this. WOW.

There used to be a time when I remember watching a lot of variety shows on TV during the month of December with a lot of fun Christmas songs and cheer. I guess that Carrie Underwood misses those too because she’ll be hosting a special tonight (Monday, December 7th), “An All-Star Holiday Special”.

Along with Carrie, the show will feature Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley, David Cook (who posted to Twitter that he’ll be doing “Lie”, one of my favorites!), Ryan Seacrest, and Neil Patrick Harris.

Last night , country singing cutie, Carrie Underwood made her way over to the 2009 American Music Awards, which were held last night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. On top of being nominated for Favorite Female Country Artist, Carrie was also there to perform her new single, “Cowboy Casanova” off of her album, Play On.
Carrie was definitely looking sweet last night! I wouldn’t have chosen that dress for her, but I’m loving the cute hairstyle! Check out her performance, here.

American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood, performed her new single “Cowboy Casanova” on the American Music Awards last night and she sounded amazing as usual.  I liked her slightly shorter hair (it was so bouncy!).  The performance was pretty saucy and sexy too but is she looking a little thinner to anyone else?

American Idol winner, Carrie Underwood, was on the Ellen show earlier this week where she talked about a variety of things including her relationship with hockey player, Mike Fisher, and her new album.  She looked so pretty!!! 
It was amazing to listen to Ellen listing all of the awards that Carrie has won in the four short years since she won Idol.  The talk show host talked to Carrie about her experience on the show to glean some insight since Ellen has been named a new judge for the upcoming season.
