winners and runner-ups will be squaring off yet again.
Check out the nominations. Who would you like to see win? I would love to see Adam Lambert take home the prize for “Choice Red Carpet Icon.” His style stands out way more than his fellow nominees in the categories.

Katharine McPhee Attends Screening of “Home”
June 7, 2009 by Jeanne
American Idol season 5 runner-up, Katharine McPhee, was seen at the screening of Home which was held at Stella McCartney’s Store last night in West Hollywood, California.
If you haven’t heard of the documentary, don’t worry – neither had I – but it does look like a great film to see. It is made up of only aerial shots of various places around the world and, apparently, it’s pretty amazing because it shows our planet’s diversity but, also, the negative effect we’ve had on the ecological balance.
Yesterday, the movie was broadcast in 50 different countries simultaneously (a world record!) and it 100% free so no one will be profiting from it.
Katharine McPhee’s Paparazzi Protection
I saw this video a couple days ago and I seriously cracked up. American Idol
season 5 runner-up, Katharine McPhee, ran into some paparazzi trouble recently and was unexpectedly saved by a homeless woman named Quween. The video of this rescue is, in itself, pretty amusing.
As if that wasn’t funny enough, the two paired up to create a “Funny or Die” video advertising Quween’s celebrity protection services and, at first, I was mildly amused but I quickly found myself laughing out loud.
I really hope that Quween gets some money out of all this so that she can get off the streets (if that’s what she wants, of course). She seems like a smart enough, tough woman and, who knows? Maybe she’ll get a movie deal and need protection from paparazzi herself!
The video contains some language that might not be suitable for all so, if you are easily offended, you might want to skip it.
Update – my new template isn’t ready for this video’s code just yet but you can check it out here: http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/035e74b018/katharine-mcphee-in-paparazzi-protection#player

Adam Lambert and Kris Allen on Today Show
May 29, 2009 by Jeanne
American Idol winner, Kris Allen, and this year’s runner-up, Adam Lambert, appeared on the Today show with Idol’s musical director, Rickey Minor. It was a great interview because I really enjoy the camaraderie
between the two artists and I think that their solidarity has done a lot to show how silly it is to get all wrapped up in the “conspiracy theories” that are plaguing this season’s finale.
Kris was asked about how his wife of eight months, Katy, was taking all of the attention he’s now getting and brought up the comment judge, Simon Cowell, made about keeping his marriage a secret (so that he didn’t lose female fans). Kris said that Katy is supportive and that “she’s not stupid.” He was also asked about the moment when he was announced as the winner and said “Adam deserved it.” He reiterated that they both deserved to win and then they laughed about their “bromance” since they have such a close relationship.
Hosts, Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford, asked them about the things that have changed in their lives since being on the show and Adam immediately said that

Adam also performed and I was glad that he picked “Mad World” (again). I really loved that performance and I feel like he is really able to connect with his audience with this song.

Katharine McPhee at National Memorial Day Concert
American Idol season 5 runner-up, Katharine McPhee, performed “Somewhere” (which you might recognize best from the West Side Story soundtrack) at the 20th Annual National Memorial Day Concert on the steps of The Capitol in Washington DC.
It was very emotional as images of a soldier were displayed on a screen behind her and then (I presume) the camera panned to him, as he is today, in the crowd with loved ones.

Catch Katharine McPhee on CSI:NY Tonight!
American Idol season 5 runner-up, Katharine McPhee, will be making a guest appearance on CSI:NY tonight. You won’t be surprised to learn that she plays a stalker victim (so many end up being stalked in these guest roles). I’m sure it will be a lot of fun to see her acting on TV instead of singing (no, I did not see The House Bunny).
Katharine McPhee Filming “Wedlocked” - Photos
March 17, 2009 by Jeanne
American Idol season 5 runner-up, Katharine McPhee, was spotted on the set of her upcoming movie Wedlocked, which is also sometimes called You May Not Kiss the Bride.
The film is set to be released sometime this year but, since it is still in production, details (including the title) continue to change. On the IMDb site, the plot is as follows: “A mobster tries to arrange his daughter to obtain U.S. citizenship by setting her up with a American photographer.”
Hmmm… It does have the potential to be funny. The cast is rounded out by Mena Suvari, Vinnie Jones, Tia Carrere and Dave Annable.

Katharine McPhee To Release New Album
February 24, 2009 by Jeanne
Katharine McPhee has signed with jazz label, Verve Records where she joins
some great artists like the late Billie Holliday, Queen Latifah, Diana Krall and Blues Traveler (among many, many others).
McPhee is expected to release a new album by the end of 2009 and Verve president/CEO Bruce Resnikoff said: "The album she is working on will show many new sides to her talents as an interpreter and a songwriter, and show everyone just how special she is."
I know Kat’s first (self-titled) album didn’t do as well as she would have hoped but I actually liked some of the songs a lot. She also collaborated with David Foster for his Hit Man: David Foster and Friends CD/DVD on which she performed “The Prayer” with Andrea Bocelli. It should be interesting to see what style she comes up with on this new album. I wonder how “jazzy” it will end up being!

Katharine McPhee Looks Fierce at 2009 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week
American Idol season 5 runner-up, Katharine McPhee, was spotted at the Caroline Herrera show as part of the Mercedes-Benz Fall 2009 Fashion Week in New York City. I’m sure it was a bit chilly out in NYC but Katharine still managed to look gorgeous with her knee-length dress while protecting her throat with a high-neck collar. Very smart!

Kat McPhee Releasing New Album This Year
January 28, 2009 by Jeanne
American Idol season 5 runner-up, Katharine McPhee, has plenty to sing about. She’s been signed to a new record label (Verve) and will be releasing a new album.
Kat’s last album, Katharine McPhee, enjoyed moderate success and I remember reading (I can’t seem to find it now) that she wasn’t happy with how it came out. The two big singles were “Love Story” and “Over It.” I actually really liked “Over it” and was surprised it didn’t do better than it did (although, it was eventually certified Gold by the RIAA).
Of the deal, Verve Music Group president/CEO Bruce Resnikoff said: "The album she is working on will show many new sides to her talents as an interpreter and a songwriter, and show everyone just how special she is."
