The album details on Amazon don’t include previews of the songs yet, but you can check out the tracklisting below:

Have you pre-ordered the album? I’ve noticed that the first single “Battlefield” (watch her perform it live with the Jonas Brothers) is getting more and more airplay (I can’t go shopping without hearing it). I’m happy for her and I hope this album is a huge success. It seems like she’s matured as an artist so I’m very interested in hearing the whole thing.
Jordin Sparks sophomore album, Battlefield, becomes available on July 21, 2009.

Jordin Sparks and Jonas Brothers - “Battlefield”
Jordin Sparks is currently on tour with the Jonas Brothers and when she sang her new single “Battlefield,” I’m sure fans of both acts were thrilled to see them performing together. I think that the song came out quite well (and could I take a moment to comment on the clarity of this video taken by Hannah Hylen – very nice for something taken at a concert).
I am not overly impressed with the dress Jordin picked for this song but she looked great. I hope she is having a great time!
Jordin Sparks Doesn’t Regret Duet With Chris Brown
June 12, 2009 by Jeanne
American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks, has been asked a lot of questions about working with Chris Brown since the singer was arrested for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend, Rihanna.
She recently said: "I don’t regret recording that with Chris at all. I want to keep Chris on that track because he was the original person on that track and that’s how it should be."
The song “No Air” was a huge hit for Jordin and I feel that it was a turning point in her young career. It introduced her to fans who might not have otherwise been interested in hearing something put out by an Idol winner and, truly, I think it was just a good song and music video.
I’m glad she has no regrets but I also have to admit that my own personal opinion of Brown has really changed and I am less inclined to listen to his music these days.
What do you think? Have your feelings toward Chris Brown changed and would you regret the collaboration if you were Jordin?
Jordin Sparks “Battlefield” Cover Art Revealed
June 11, 2009 by Jeanne
Have you seen the album cover for Jordin Sparks’ upcoming release Battlefield? I have to say that I am a bit disappointed considering how much (I think) she has grown as an artist since putting out her self-titled debut.
I just don’t get this. She’s beautiful and the single “Battlefield” makes her sound like a strong woman. Why wouldn’t they want to depict that in this cover art? It doesn’t make sense. It’s not even a particularly good picture of her but I do have to say that her skin looks amazing!
Tell me – what do you think of this?

Kris Allen and Adam Lambert Sign with 19 Recordings
It has been announced that both American Idol winner, Kris Allen, and his runner-up, Adam Lambert, have been signed to 19 Recordings. Kris has been licensed to Jive Records while Adam has been licensed to RCA Records.
I can’t wait to see what kind of music they both come up with. I’m equally intrigued about any collaborations which can make a huge difference in their success (look at what “No Air” did for Jordin Sparks!)
What do you think? Is there anyone you’d like to see Kris and/or Adam work with?
Sneak Peek: Jordin Sparks’ “Battlefield” Video
June 4, 2009 by Jeanne
After looking at this sneak peek of her video for her new single “Battlefield,” I can’t even explain how far Jordin Sparks has come since winning American Idol, but I’m thoroughly impressed. ![]()
Granted, this is just a 30-second clip but the look in her eyes, the quality of her makeup, her lip-synching ability (and did I mention the song?) practically scream the fact that this young woman has been maturing and growing as a person and an artist. I’m so happy for her!
I know she’s been hanging out a lot with model/singer, Steph Jones, (didn’t they look cute at the Lakers game together?) and that she’s been conflicted about where to go with that relationship so maybe that’s played a role in her transformation.
Anyway, check out this preview and let me know what you think!

Jordin Sparks and Brother Travel Together
If you’re a fan of American Idol season 6 winner, Jordin Sparks, then you probably know that she is especially close to her brother, PJ. They have met with some speculations and rumors recently since they both have a tattoo of each other’s names and some have found that strange (what do you think? Is it weird to have your sibling’s name inked on some part of your body?).
Anyway, they were spotted together as they got off of an international flight and landed in Washington, DC. They seem to travel well, at least. Neither of them looks worse for wear after being in a plane for multiple hours.
Jordin Sparks at Claudia Jordan’s Birthday Party!
April 15, 2009 by Jeanne
American Idol season 6 winner, Jordin Sparks, attended the birthday bash of Claudia Jordan, who turned 36 this week. I love that Jordin went for a classic jeans and basic top look. She looks adorable!
Claudia worked as one of Barker’s Beauties on The Price is Right from 2001-2003 and then as a model on Deal or No Deal. She also is a co-host on Jamie Foxx’s Sirius radio show, The Foxxhole, which was at the center of controversy after Jamie (and other people in the studio) launched a verbal attack on Miley Cyrus.

Jordin Sparks Talks About Dating and More
American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks, gave an interview with OK Magazine recently that I thought was a fun one for a change (interviews can get so repetitive!).
The first thing that surprised me is that Jordin is trying to learn Japanese after becoming very interested in the culture. I share this interest with Jordin, actually. My family has lived in Japan off and on for the past 20 years and I’ve gotten to visit. I absolutely love it there but only speak a little Japanese.
She talked about whether she still watches Idol and she said that she actually does (I read her Tweets about it all the time, actually!). She said that her grandparents TiVo it for her when she can’t watch it. She also revealed that she has voted and, during the first week, she voted for Danny Gokey and Alexis Grace.
Jordin recently worked with John Mayer and, naturally, she was asked about the experience. Here’s the quote of what she said: “I was so excited because my mom told me she talked to John’s manager and that John was going to call me on my phone and I was like, “What??” I had a little bit of a freak out but John called me and we were talking about this night and he was really excited, and so was I. I was trying really hard to not freak out, but I am a huge fan and I ended up telling him that and then I felt really lame after I said it.”
Isn’t that sweet!? I love when I hear stars tell their own “I acted like a fool in front of a celebrity” stories because it reminds me that they are just like anyone else. I would totally freak if John Mayer called me so I can’t blame her! She was asked if she follows all of his twittering and she admitted that she is but said that she doesn’t think he realizes it is actually her replying to his messages since he has “like 50,000 people following him and talking to him at one time, so he has no idea I’m following him. He’s a smart guy though.”
She was also asked if she is dating anyone. She said that she is single (but looking) and says that her schedule is a bit hectic to have a relationship. She describes her perfect boy in the following way: “Well, I have grown up around sports my whole life, so I do like athletic guys, but I also like musicians and it’s a little hard to find an athlete/musician. They have to be respectful, respect my family and who I am, they have to make me laugh because it they can’t make me laugh I can’t handle it because I laugh all the time, all day. If they don’t have a good sense of humor and can’t take my sense of humor, they’re gone.”
I think that’s pretty solid reasoning, don’t you? It’s so important to laugh and have fun (especially during the hard times) so I’d say having a sense of humor is something I value in a relationship as well.

Jordin Sparks and Michael Johns at Celebrity Fight Night
This weekend, the stars came out for Muhammad Ali’s Celebrity Fight Night for an evening filled with Live Auction items and live musical performances by some amazing artists. American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks, and finalist, Michael Johns, were among the celebrities who were asked to perform at the charity event which was held at the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa in Arizona.
In the time since Celebrity Fight Night began 14 years old, the event has managed to raise over $52 million, with the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute as the primary beneficiary along with numerous other charities. It sounds like a great event!
