Poll: Who is your favorite American Idol winner so far?

I can’t believe that American Idol kicks off season nine next week, it feels like it’s been a long wait. I think part of the problem for me is the fact that Canadian Idol hasn’t been on for a couple of years, and that show used to fill up the gap for me in between seasons.
Still, the new season is right around the corner and soon we’ll all be picking our favorite Idol contenders and for those of you who are American, frenzied voting will begin a few weeks later.
With the idea of a new American Idol winner hitting …read more

Happy birthday David Cook!

Today is David Cook’s birthday and I’m sure that many of us would like to celebrate his special day! On his Twitter stream David told fans that if they felt like getting him a special gift that they should consider donating to this cause – and if you know his history with his much-loved brother’s medical battle, you’ll know why.

In related news, David was busy on his 27th birthday – he sang the national anthem at the Chiefs game. Check it out!
I don’t think I’m alone in saying that he did a great job with it! Happy …read more

Video clips of Carrie Underwood’s All-Star Holiday Special

On Monday night, Carrie Underwood’s All Star Holiday Special aired on Fox and she helped to bring back the old-fashioned variety show, featuring guest singers and skits. I’ve been able to find some video clips to share with you in case you missed it!
First of all, I had to show you Carrie Underwood singing “O Holy Night”, one of my all-time favorite Christmas songs. Her voice gives me chills in this. WOW.

David Cook on Acting, Paula Abdul and Donating Pants to Hard Rock

According to E!, American Idol winner, David Cook, has said that he would like to get into acting while he was doing a CD signing a the Hard Rock Cafe at Universal CityWalk in Los Angeles.
"It’s another kind of way to be creative, so I’m very on board for that."  I think that it could actually work, to be honest.  I think that David is an intense person and he’s had a lot of life experience which totally comes out in his music.  I’m sure he could translate into something great on the big screen or television.  I hope he …read more

American Idol David Cook Plays Golf With Friends

American Idol David Cook Plays Golf With Friends

The seventh American Idol winner, David Cook, had a little time on his hands so he chose to go play golf with some of his friends.  He took up the sport since it was one of the things that his brother Adam loved.  Among his golf mates was Raine Maida, who is the frontman of Canadian band, Our Lady Peace (my husband’s favorite!).  He and Maida worked together on some songs and David credits him as one of his biggest influences.  I can see that!
This video is pretty entertaining – I always love to see celebrities just acting normal and …read more

David Cook Performs at “Home Run Derby” – Video

Last year’s American Idol winner, David Cook, performed “Heroes” at the Home Run Derby (an event played prior to the MLB All-Star Game) earlier this week.  I was able to track down this video of him performing “Heroes” (sorry for the quality).

Here’s the audio of an interview David gave before the performance.  He explained that he really loves baseball so he’s like a “kid in a candy store” with excitement over being able to be at the event.  He’s always so charming!  Check it out:

American Idol David Cook on The Fuse – Video

David Cook appeared on The Fuse’s No. 1 Countdown where he talked about his eclectic taste in music.  I also love music from all genres so I think that’s pretty cool.  He also mentioned how weird it was to see his own face all over iTunes after he won American Idol – I can’t even imagine how crazy that must have been.  He credits his father for encouraging him to play the guitar and for shaping David’s musical style.
He also talks about a lot of different topics including what it was like when he moved out on his own …read more

David Cook Takes a Moment of Silence for Michael Jackson

Last year’s American Idol winner, David Cook, sang a version of “Billie Jean” while he was competing on the show and it was a huge hit.  I loved what he did with the classic song and I’m sure the fans on his tour were hoping he would perform it as a tribute to the late Michael Jackson.
I saw this video on MJs Big Blog and it brought tears to my eyes.  David mentioned “Billie Jean” and the crowd went nuts with excitement but it was short lived – David said that he didn’t want to “half-ass it” since he …read more

David Cook Talks to Larry King About Brother, Fame

American Idol season 7 winner, David Cook, sat down with CNN’s Larry King last night and he touched on a variety of topics.  Of course, Larry asked about the death of David’s brother, Adam, who recently died after a lengthy battle with brain cancer.
Watch the video (can I just take a moment to complain about how CNN introduced the show’s guests?  Right after they mention Adam Cook, they bring up Heidi and Spencer Pratt which just felt cheap but I digress…)

David also talked about what it’s been like to suddenly become famous.  It’s got to be crazy to audition …read more
