David Archuleta recently performed in Omaha, Nebraska and I spotted these great pictures for you Archie fans!  I haven’t been lucky enough to see him live in concert since the only events I’ve attended were for the press and he wasn’t performing but it looks like he’s really opened up on stage.  Truly, I believe that if he had possessed this kind of stage presence, he really might have won.  No disrespect to David Cook, of course, because we love him too, right?

Recently, it was announced that Jordin Sparks and Britney Spears would be touring together.  Actually, I guess it would be more accurate to say that Jordin is opening for Britney and the pairing felt odd and weird to me in about a million ways.

The ever adorable, David Archuleta, performed the Colbie Caillat mega-hit, “Bubbly” at his concert in Pittsburgh last night.  Of course, he did a really good job and the crowd went crazy when they realized what he was singing (they also sang along).  I have always wondered if people get annoyed when the audience sings along.

Kelly Clarkson is hitting the road again!  This time the very first American Idol is embarking on her “All I Ever Wanted” tour starting on October 2, 2009 in Connecticut.  Sales for the first few shows go on sale on August 15, 2009 so I’ll update you on that closer to that date.  Opening acts will include The Veronicas (Take Me on the Floor) and Parachute (She Is Love ).

Here are some pics from the San Diego show.  Of course, the set and song lists are the same but I’m sure each night brings a new flavor to it.  I’m loving the pics of Adam Lambert in the trucker hat.  I wonder if they get tired of the clothes (or each other).  Who does all the laundry if they are on a tour bus?  What is Scott MacIntyre wearing around his neck?  Anyway, enough digressing.  Enjoy the pictures!

There are a lot of pictures from the Los Angeles, San Diego and Salt Lake City American Idols Live! concerts so I’m starting with the ones from LA.  Did you get to go to the show?  It looks like a lot of fun.  I’d love to hear about it!

Last year’s American Idol winner, David Cook, performed “Heroes” at the Home Run Derby (an event played prior to the MLB All-Star Game) earlier this week.  I was able to track down this video of him performing “Heroes” (sorry for the quality).

Here’s the audio of an interview David gave before the performance.  He explained that he really loves baseball so he’s like a “kid in a candy store” with excitement over being able to be at the event.  He’s always so charming!  Check it out:

Former American Idol finalist, Jennifer Hudson, was accompanied by a choir as she took the stage today at the memorial service for Michael Jackson.  It was a powerful and touching moment and I had held it together pretty well until the very end when they played Michael’s speaking part from the song.

I noticed that the heavily pregnant Jennifer looked up several times during the performance and I’m sure she could relate to the pain the Jackson family felt since she lost her own family last October.

To promote their sophomore album, Leave This Town, Daughtry are embarking on a 13-date club tour.  The album drops on July 14, 2009 and the tour begins on August 2, 2009 – that’s plenty of time for their fans to learn all of the new songs!
Even though it’s not a lot of dates and locations, I think that club performances are a lot more intimate and makes the band seem more accessible to fans.  I think it’s great.
It’s also the first time that the group will be performing many of these songs on stage and I really love those …read more

The American Idol top 10 from Season 8 will perform in their first show this Sunday (July 5, 2009) in Portland, Oregon and I’m sure their fans are excited to see them perform live.  I never get to go since I’m up in Canada and they don’t have any stops here (but they should – Canadians watch the show too!).
