Chris Daughtry Talks About New Album

American Idol star, Chris Daughtry, recently talked to Entertainment Weekly at the Hollywood premiere of Hancock (where he is pictured with his wife, Deanna) about Daughtry’s upcoming album: “I don’t want to put out anything that is second rate or be accused of going through a sophomore slump.  So we’re taking our time on it.”

I think that’s a good idea.  Too many artists have a great debut album and then completely blow it on the second one.  I say take your time and do it right. 

Chris also gave some hints about what we can expect:  “It’s going to be a big huge rock album.  We are working with the same producer — Howard Benson [All American Rejects, My Chemical Romance] — same band and some of the same writers so it feels very comfortable this time around.”

Daughtry is hoping to release the album in early 2009.
