Clay Aiken on Tonight Show - Video

by Jeanne on May 13th, 2008

American Idol superstar, Clay Aiken, was on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno where he joined actor Jack Black on the stage.  Host, Jay Leno, asked about Clay’s new look and his lighter hair and Clay explained that he had darker hair and it made him feel old.  That led to pretty comical exchange with Clay eventually pointing out that this “peers” in the music industry “are like twelve.”  LOL!  It got even funnier when Clay talked about how he compares to Justin Timberlake and being cut from his high school musical.  Hilarious!

See Clay perform after the jump!

Clay was in top form Monday night. The new trim is a great improvement; love it! His quick wit will take him far (of course the voice will also have something to do with that, too! LOL) But I do wonder why Clay keeps ‘forgetting’ his incredible turn as Will in his high school performance of ‘OKLAHOMA!’ during his junior year?? His ACTING, his DANCING, his SINGING was Broadway-caliber. Terrific performance. I guess getting cut from ‘Guys and Dolls’, especially from a lead role, really does smart after all these years. I wonder what the drama teacher thought when she saw Clay on AI and then him becoming the only ‘TRUE IDOL’ from that show????

I unfortautley had to miss this taping, this time. But, I saw it on TV, and Clay as usual was wonderul. I love to hear him talk, just about as much as I love to hear him sing. The snark gets me everytime. Even off Broadway, his comedic timing is impeccable. And, the singing.. well, it was out of this world.
