Clay Aiken vs. Newsweek on ET – Video

January 17, 2008 by Jeanne

clay aiken

American Idol finalist, Clay Aiken, discusses his feud with Newsweek with Entertainment Tonight and also talks about his debut in the musical "Spamalot.

So, apparently, Newsweek asked him about that incident when he put his hand over Kelly Ripa’s mouth when he was the guest co-host on Live with Regis and Kelly.  He says his comments were taken out of context.  I can’t wait to hear what you guys have to say.

I have to remind everyone that I won’t tolerate abuse in the comment area but I also welcome the sharing of opinions (even the unpopular ones).  As long as you don’t resort to name-calling and just outright rudeness, it’s all good :)

    Heh, I got here first.

I think Clay said it all and said it well – It was supposed to be an interview about Spamalot and the reporter veered off into old and very unimportant news -or for the sleeping foot- not even news. Clay thought he was talking to a respected news organization – poor guy, those days are long gone. I stopped reading Newsweek for any “news” information years ago.

What I have to say is good for Clay for standing up to that reporter. Clay expected an intelligent, relevant interview from Newsweek. That’s not what he got and he let the guy know. Good for him!

I thought Monty Python was a person till I read the Newsweak article. lol

The Newsweek article started off great but then I think the “reporter” forgot to do his homework and started asking questions no cares about. Old news is not what Newsweek is about, right. Or did I miss something, is it called Last Year’s News? LOL! I think Mr. Aiken answered appropriately. Break a leg, Clay! I plan on making a trip to NYC soon and I’ll be sure to catch Spamalot while there.

P.S. Clay was great on E.T., as usual.
