Clay Aiken Won’t Forgive Kathy Griffin?

December 5, 2008 by Jeanne

clay aiken According to d-list comedienne, Kathy Griffin, there is a rift between her and American Idol star, Clay Aiken.  She claims that he became upset with her after she referred to him as "Gayken" during one of her stand-up comedy shows.  While they were both backstage at the doomed variety show, Rosie Live, Kathy made an attempt to smooth things over.  Here’s what she describes:

I held up one of those ghetto blasters playing one of Clay’s songs, and I begged him to take me back and he said no. And then I walked out of the room and Gloria Estefan said to me, ‘I told ya—you shouldn’t have gone in there alone.’

There were no words of thanks or even really any words at all, for that matter. I would have to say he was not very nice.

Wow… if any of that is true, Clay must be really upset.  It’s hard to want to forgive Kathy Griffin anyway.  On the one hand, I do occasionally find her funny.  On the other, she’s just really annoying… What do you think?

I think this is a lot of bunk from Kathy!

She is just trying to drum up new “Clay Aiken” material for her show.

I would take this with a grain of salt!

  2. Kim says:

There is no riff . There is no relationship at all .

Once again , this is an exaggerated /hurtful story told to keep KG’s name in the news for another 15 minutes . I am ready for her final curtain call .

  3. Reese says:

I think this is schtick from her comedy routine and nothing more.

  4. Bev says:

That I’m sure is all for some new routine and it won’t be any funnier than the old one. For somebody that’s supposed to love Clay, she sure has an odd way of showing it. Clay had his picture taken that night with Conan who has been twice as bad with the gay jokes about him on his show.

  5. Anna says:

During “one” of her shows? Surely you jest. She has been trashing him and calling him Gayken for years. I honestly don’t think it’s bothered him all that much. But if I were him, I’d would not have been so nice to her. She says she likes him. It’s time for that loud-mouthed woman to bid good-bye.

I find Kathy Griffin to be as funny as Rosie. In other words, not. Apparently NBC agrees and Rosie’s been dumped again. This is purely a Kathy attempt to draw attention to herself to try to invigorate a failing career. Clay is right to ignore her.
And comparing Kathy to Conan? Please! Not even close.

  7. Debbie says:

This sounds like TMZ type smut. “I begged him to take me back”. Really, Kathy? Back to where, to what; there’s nothing to go back to. I do not find Kathy, Rosie or Conan funny, JMO. I did however, like Rosie’s talk show from a few years back. Now, Ellen D, is another story and I just love her. She is so funny and does not resort to trashing other people to be so.

  8. Nick says:

I LOVE Kathy…it was only a joke. For those of you who take Kathy serious make me laugh lol. She is one of the funniest comedians of all time, and “My Life On The D-List” is AMAZING!!!!

  9. Cookie says:

I think Kathy Griffin is totally irritating and unfunny. From the first time I ever saw her on the J.Seinfeld show, which she was horrible by the way, just don’t see her as funny. I think Clay was smart to ignore her, I think everyone should ignore her.
