Corey Clark Pleads Guilty to Harrassment
October 14, 2007 by Jeanne
Nice! Don’t you wish high school worked this way all the time too? Someone accuses you of something, says all kinds of nasty things about you but, in the end, ends up looking like the biggest loser on the planet? That’s what seems to be happening with American Idol cast away, Corey Clark. You may remember him from his allegations about an affair with Paula Abdul. Here’s the latest story:
Former “American Idol” contestant Corey Clark pleaded guilty to a felony harassment charge stemming from phone calls he placed to his father-in-law, and prosecutors agreed to a deal allowing him to be placed on probation, court documents show.
The crime Clark admitted to during a hearing in Yuma County Superior Court this month carries a term of as many as 2 years in prison and a $150,000 fine, according to the plea agreement.
In exchange for entering a guilty plea Oct. 2 to one felony charge of aggravated harassment involving domestic violence, Clark had four other charges dismissed, said Roger Nelson, a Yuma County prosecutor.
A sentencing date has not been set. Clark’s attorney, Richard Geller, declined to comment.
Authorities said Clark violated a court order in August 2006 by placing several calls to his father-in-law. He had been charged with counts of failure to comply with the order.
Clark’s wife, Monica Rodriguez Gonzalez, filed for a domestic violence protective order in June 2006, claiming that Clark had abused her. The order prohibited Clark from having any contact with her and eight other people, including their child.
Clark was disqualified from “Idol” after reaching the finals of the second season in 2003 for failing to reveal a previous arrest. He later accused “Idol” judge Paula Abdul of coaching him and initiating an affair. She denied his allegations, and Fox TV cleared Abdul of any wrongdoing.
I’m so happy to hear that Corey took the small amount of fame he received from being on American Idol and used it to his gain. While others are trying to secure record deals and mall openings (sorry, I had to throw that in), Corey’s fighting to stay out of jail.

Another nut case. Where are they all coming from.
You know, I wrote on that Kim Locke and Justin Guarini bloglet (?) that I would not write anyone off yet, well…… I think that Corey is the exception that proves the rule.
He did work hard to succeed considering he did start off idol in the hole, since his problems were aried on the show to millions and he did not endear himself to anyone with his Paula claims, although after watching “Hey, Paula” series, I do now have doubts.
He just seems to have a history the indicates out of normal behavior and I don’t think he has the support to correct it.
LOL!!!!!
Jean – I swear you knew I was talking to you! When I mentioned that people were trying to accomplish things I included “opening malls.”
lol, I think “Hey Paula” definitely did more harm than good…
I’m glad to see that Corey is getting what he deserves. He is such a scumbag. I never once believed him for one minute when the allgations about him and Paula started. He is such a loser!
I agree, the editing on Hey Paula did more bad than good. It didn’t make me less of a fan or anything though.

I agree, the editing on Hey Paula did more bad than good. I feel so bad for her, she has a lot to deal with and I just hope she learns to slow down a little bit.
