Darn, I spoiled it for myself.
Well, I was editing last night’s post to fix my typo (sorry again Jason!) and I saw Jason’s post. Well, so I know. Lorraine has threatened bodily harm on me if I tell, so we have 15 more minutes until she gets the bad news.
Since I know the ending … I was checking e-mail and such while the gang was getting their tour of Graceland (we were actually out to dinner with Lorraine’s mom over here on Pender Island and didn’t get home until nearly 9 so, whew). Lost count of gold records at over 100! OMG! Can you imagine, you know just cleaning up, straightening a shelf … "Oh, look another gold record!" Yeah, me neither. I did like the Ford commercial. Fine I’m a sucker for Kermit, so sue me.
The Elvis medley before the big decision was nice. Okay, so Taylor is doing a by-celebrity-request for Jailhouse Rock, okay. He did lay it out there. Nice. Gawd, they have to be so wrecked as time ticks on this pivotal 30 mins.
So, I know Chris is going to be gone. Hmm. I figured it was going to be Chris and Katherine in the finals. Both had the best style of all the singers, IMNSHO. The exciting, who-can-sing-in-the-clutch, show is going to be next week. Sure, the finale is going to be awesome. What, a two-hour finale is standard, right?
So I’ve just seen that it was Katherine and Chris in the bottom two. Well, they did have the weakest performances of the four. So I can get it. As much as I don’t really like Elliot, I have to give him props for putting it all out there last night.
Now … comes the final word … ooh Simon had picked Katherine. The judges are shocked. Paula is crying. The other contestants seemed shocked (Katherine especially). Wow.
Yeah, the majority of North America has already seen this. But, wow, what a shock!

Stunned disbelief I think is the phrase that comes to mind, but like I said in my other reply,.. I didn’t vote. :/
lesson? next season, when there is a performer that I think is good enough to put out recordings that I’d actually pay money for, I’d better vote. And, when watching social experiments, it’s best to not get emotionally invested in the outcomes if one is not participating in said experiment.
And all of that aside, all four of them (even Elliott who I don’t like) are good singers and performers. I loved their Elvis medley number!
Stop ragging on Elliott!! He’s a favorite in our house.
