David Archuleta Signs Record Deal!!!
American Idol season 7 runner-up, David Archuleta, has signed a recording contract with 19 Recordings/Jive Records. He is expected to release and album later this year.
Simon Fuller, the creator of Idol, believes that David has a great career to look forward to and said: “It was fascinating to watch David’s journey through ‘Idol.’ He is a genuine pop star, and is a gifted singer,”
Good for David! Hopefully, things within the gossip mill will settle down for him and he can focus on his music. I can’t wait to see what his album sounds like! I wish they would release it sooner than later - I thought they waited too long with Jordin Sparks and Blake Lewis. Last year’s Canadian Idol winner, Brian Melo, released his album fast enough to benefit from his popularity on the show which, obviously, is important.

LOL, good for David but didn’t we already know he would get signed pretty quick. They must have offered him a great deal. I’m surprised he didn’t go for that big Disney contract…oh well maybe in time…for now…go Archie!
On another note - Jeanne I hear ya! We had to wait until like Thanksgiving for their albums to come out right? Well Cook has to put his our before Archie. I bet they will both be good. Archie for the slow songs and Cook for the get up out your seats and “rock on” songs =)
I bet all the Archie fans are mad that AI made him cancel his concert, LOL…I swear his dad had something to do with booking that…LOL

I cannot wait to buy his album. I miss seeing him every tuesday and getting to hear him sing. He really is phenomenal. He is one of the few singers that I have listened to in my whole life that can give me the chills when he sings. What a unique and amazing voice. Good for him and I wish him much luck in his career and happiness in his life.

I’m so glad he didn’t sign a contract with Disney, though.
