I am such a huge fan of The Phantom of the Opera that it was hard for me to listen to anyone sing this song outside of the musical – nevermind listen to a remix. So, I turned it on with great trepidation and I was pleasantly surprised. I think it’s a fun remix of a great performance by David.
The cool part is that the remix was done by Sonic Ether (a.k.a. Cody Darr), an 18-year-old musician who became captivated by his fellow teen on this season of Idol. “I actually have a lot of musical training, but you can’t teach instinct,” said Cody, “and David Archuleta’s musical instincts are incredible. I’m so not the audience for American Idol, but I had to keep watching because of David.”
Even cooler is that David has had a chance to listen to the remix and Cody has now been invited to participate in his homecoming events in Murray, Utah this weekend. Wow!

I’m not much of a modern music fan and didn’t even know what a “remix” was. However, after listening to this I have to admit that it sounds pretty good. Of course, anything that Archuleta sings sounds great!
