David Archuleta “Your Eyes Don’t Lie” in Atlantic City

November 5, 2009 by Jeanne

David Archuleta performed at Trump’s Taj Mahal resort in Atlantic City over the weekend and there’s a huge collection of great videos on YouTube but I had to pick his performance of “Your Eyes Don’t Lie” to share.  David gets better and better on stage every time I see him and it’s hard to believe he is that same timid kid who we saw on American Idol

David Archuleta keeps getting better and better every day. To think he is only 18 years old and that his voice is not fully mature. That in itself if amazing!!

It goes to show that you don’t need to be flashy, controversial or scream your lungs out to be an amazing artist. There are so many reasons why we love David. His voice is Heavenly, his persona is to die for – you can’t help but love him for who he is. I’ve met him several times and what you see on stage and on interview is EXACTLY who is.

thanks for the videos. i LOVE your eyes don’t lie, esp the way david performs it live. his version of apologize is better than the original i think.

david has grown into one of the more dynamic and exciting live performers out here… his personality and natural charm shine onstage, as well as his passionate and very distinctive way of delivering a vocal, like in ”yedl”… the david you see onstage now bears little resemblance to the david we saw on the idol stage, and he has so much time on his side, one wonders the type of performer he will be in 5 years, and beyond… the future will take care of the future – david is to be enjoyed as a stellar performer in the here and now.

  5. lct says:

Wow, he just keeps getting better! And he’s not even 21 yet! What a guy! He’s got it all! Personality, talent, and looks!

  6. kimk says:

I saw him in Greensboro recently…
and well I think they replaced him with a smokin’ super star body double!

  7. pam05 says:

When you come to Ann Arbor David, I will be glad to whistle for you “-) The man’s got pipes!!!

  8. Patty says:

David will be only 19 – WATCH OUT WHEN HE TURNS 21! That’s all I have to say.

  9. Tina says:

David is such an amazing performer — it is that ability more than anything else that has progressed over the past year. I am so pleased to know that he has remained the same humble, down-to-earth person he was before stardom but, man-oh-man, how his showmanship has excelled!

One important thing that David seems to recognize: while the ability to “perform” for an audience is important to a good show, the key to a GREAT concert is keeping the music front and center. David’s voice is what drew the crowd there and it’s his voice that carries the night.

For me, a David Archuleta concert is one of the greatest musical experiences I’ll enjoy in my life — if you haven’t had the chance to catch one yourself, I encourage you to do so. You won’t regret it, I can promise you that! :)

I’ve seen David in concert just once and hope to see him again soon. He is such a wonderful entertainer and that voice, it just captivates you. I love his Christmas From the Heart CD and I look forward to his next one. He’s simply the best singer out there.

“David gets better and better on stage every time I see him”

Better then what? Should we be guaging him, this beautiful person and performer as…good, better, best?

David has new ways of presenting his songs, new changes to his lyrics, different comments to his audiences, different emotions, different times to smile. But to say he is getting better and better makes us sound like Simon. We are judging him. He is compiling more stage time that is a given.

David is giving us different presentations that he has configured from time to time. I would like to honor him and the greatness that we enjoy by not using the word “better” at all unless he has been sick and now is better…Using the words “better and better’ seems like we are waiting for him to reach the score of “perfect”. We seem to be always on the watch for his so called improvement while he is already the “best”.

If you need to say something, say that “David is becoming more awesome, more handsome, more spiritual, more enlightening. Perhaps the fact that he is nearly 19 speaks for itself that of course there will be obvious changes…

  18. Patty says:
