David Cook Cancels Next Two Shows
March 30, 2009 by Jeanne
David Cook announced, during his performance at William and Mary concert on March 28, 2009, that he would have to put the next couple shows on hold for a few days. He explained that in all of the time he’s been performing, from age 15 until now, he’s only canceled one show and added: “I wouldn’t do this if I didn’t have to.”
On his website, the announcement was elaborated stating that the shows at Colby Sawyer College (New London, NH) and So. Connecticut University (New Haven, CT) would be canceled to “allow David time to deal with personal family matters.”
Watch David make the announcement to the crowd right before singing hit hit single “Light On.”
I sincerely hope that this has nothing to do with David’s brother, Adam, who has advanced brain cancer. If that is the case, however, I hope and pray that things will turn out alright. My thoughts are with the Cook family.

I’ve been praying for the Cook family intermittently since I first learned of Adam’s cancer battle. But Since I heard this news of canceled shows, it has been in the forefront of my mind. Whatever the situation, I know it is something serious for David to cancel, so I’m hoping and praying for all the best for him and his family.
That was my first thought too. I hope that everything is well. I can’t imagine having to perform for screaming fans if something happens to his brother.
