David Cook Talks to Larry King About Brother, Fame

June 15, 2009 by Jeanne

American Idol season 7 winner, David Cook, sat down with CNN’s Larry King last night and he touched on a variety of topics.  Of course, Larry asked about the death of David’s brother, Adam, who recently died after a lengthy battle with brain cancer.

Watch the video (can I just take a moment to complain about how CNN introduced the show’s guests?  Right after they mention Adam Cook, they bring up Heidi and Spencer Pratt which just felt cheap but I digress…)

David also talked about what it’s been like to suddenly become famous.  It’s got to be crazy to audition for a show as an relatively unknown person and then compete on a program only to emerge as a bona fide rock star when it’s all over.  Can you imagine what that’s like?  He’s got a lot of touring ahead of him in the months to come.

Every time I see David Cook interviewed, I am more and more impressed at what a natural he is on tv. Not only is he talented vocally, and musically, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him be very successful in an acting career. I wish Larry King would come up with better questions for him, instead of the time-worn,boring questions they keep asking David on every radio and tv interview. For once I would love to have the whole interview be as David stated himself and be about “the music”. I guess that would require insightful and thoughtful research, which requires time and a modicum of orginality, which none of these interviewers seem to have. I’ll keep hoping for a really great interview one of these days!
