David Cook’s Brother Dies of Cancer
May 3, 2009 by Jeanne
It’s a very sad day for David Cook and his family. His brother, Adam Cook, had been battling brain cancer, sadly succumbed to the disease after a lengthy battle. The announcement was made on David’s official website. Adam was just 36 years old.
The reigning American Idol bravely participated in today’s Race for Hope 5k run in Washington, DC today. The event benefits brain cancer research. Here’s a video of David addressing the crowd today. What a great way to honor his brother.

It’s amazing that he did this a day after his brother died – but like you said, truly a wonderful way to honor his brother and showing his support of the fight against cancer.
My prays and thoughts are with David and his family, this is such a tragedy!!
I wish David and his family all the best during this difficult time.
I was so sad when I heard. And once again David proved that he is a person full of incredible class because I know he could have stepped back from the event due to circumstances, but he kept going to honor his brother and everyone else who is suffering. I’m sure it must have been incredibly difficult to do it so major props to him for that.
What a class act! My thoughts and prayers are with David and his family. May he know that his brother is in a better place and free of all the pain and discomfort.
David Cook is a class act…he did his brother proud…David demonstrates that strength and courage and support in numbers … one day there will be a cure … we must believe!!!
