Did American Idol Offer to Bring Kelly Clarkson on Tour?

I don’t know how true this is but there’s been talk of Kelly Clarkson, who recently cancelled her own tour, being asked to perform during this summer’s American Idol Tour.
The New York Post cites the Geno’s World Web site as saying Clarkson has been invited to make a “special cameo” appearance alongside this year’s top 10 finishers.
Has anyone else heard about this?
