Did Ozzy Refuse to Work with Sanjaya?
PLEASE TAKE THE FOLLOWING WITH A HEAPING GRAIN OF SALT!
The “Prince of Darkness” himself has allegedly refused to work with Sanjaya Malakar, the contestant many believed would ruin American Idol. Ozzy Osbourne was set to perform on the American Idol finale but “cancelled at the last minute… when he learned that he would have to do a duet with Sanjaya.” Supposedly, Ozzy said that he did not “want to be onstage with that idiot.” What song would they have performed together? I’m not sure this makes sense but stranger things have happened.

I wouldn’t doubt he said it. I think the “idiot” part was uncalled for but that’s Ozzy. I am not saying that I am condoning his behavior at all…I’m simply saying That’s Ozzy he doesn’t give a #%@& about what he says or the consequences. ;)

Ozzy already lost a lot of credibility from his reality TV show The Osbournes where he came across as a total buffoon, so he probably doesn’t wanna lose any more of this precious commodity. Also, I think he made the right decision because Sanjaya - great as he is - is very “unmetal”! His vastly entertaining rendition of “You Really Got Me” is more of a Spinal Tap-esque spoof. Where’ the CD already?
If they did perform together, the Sabbath classic “Paranoid” would have been very mirthful!

I think this story is a complete fabrication. I read an interview somewhere, can’t recall, but Joe Perry talked about looking forward to doing the song with Sanjaya. Obviously it was rehearsed and PREARRANGED… not some last minute fill-in because Ozzie pulled out. People will say anything. Just quit hating, sheesh.

Yeah, Sharyn. This story is a bit bizarr-o! I’m not sure what to make of it. On the one hand, I could see Ozzy saying something like that but at the same time, I don’t know how Ozzy could have possibly fit into the show. It makes so no sense.

LOL…”very lucky”…wow….that may be a stretch but he is a popular guy since idol. Sanjaya’s fan base since Idol is amazing. But I really don’t think he is strong vocally in the Rock/Metal genre. Some fans may think he is strong in other areas but I think he has proved and he even admits that he messes up in that area. It’s probably a good thing that the two of them did not perform together…it could have been a disaster instead of a train wreck…lol
In any case…When/if Ozzy made the statement, it’s like the cat calling the kettle black when he called Sanjaya a “hairstlye-challenged idiot” geez look in the mirror dude. Even I can see Sanjaya has better hair-do’s than Ozzy’s hair don’ts.

Sanjaya is an idiot, and I’m glad that Ozzy cancelled… If I were famous I’d do the same thing.
