I'm from her hometown of Sevierville, TN, and our Chamber of Commerce has been hosting The Mountain Soul Vocal competition for four years now. It also honors Dolly's songwriting as contestants must pick one of the 3,000 songs she has written and sing it in their own style (rock, rap, country, etc.). It's been pretty successful and we draw competitors from all over the country. The finals this year are May 17, but we're still accepting applications until April 11. The prizes are great and first place is $500, a guitar autographed by Dolly, and a recording session in Nashville.
