Elliott Yamin’s Mother Passes Away
I’m very sad to announce that Elliott Yamin’s mother, Claudette, has passed away. Elliott, a finalist on American Idol’s fifth season, was very close to his mother who died last night at 65 years of age. Her cause of death has not been released but it was reported that she spent the weekend in the hospital.
etrainstation.com put up a statement saying that the family has asked for privacy and that in lieu of sending flowers, donations can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s Central Virginia chapter (Elliott has Type 1 diabetes).
My heart really goes out to Elliott and his family.

I feel so sad for the Yamin family. Claudette was a wonderful woman and mother to Elliott, Scott, and Jodie. She will be missed. Thankfully, she left us with a beautiful talent in Elliott. He will always be the #1 idol, to me.

This is very sad for the Yamin family and I wonder if it is true she died of starvation following gastric bypass surgery because she couldn’t tolerate eating and had no appetite. I was shocked to read this as I had the same surgery 13 weeks ago have lost 80 pounds and am so nauseated I cannot eat right now. I hope it passes soon. Water makes me ill. I can understand how she could not eat. Sad that she did it to get healthy and be more active, etc. and she died at 65. God Bless her and her loved ones. Be comforted that she is no longer weak, sick, suffering, and oh how she must love watching Elliot perform from her front row seat!
