Fashion Flops and Mop Tops

There were times during last night’s performance when how the contestants looked drew attention away from how they sounded – not too hard on one of the dullest nights in Idol history (I’ll call it YawnFest 2007). Here’s a look at some of the low-lights from last night.

What was Jordin thinking??? I personally love to see a fuller-figured woman on television, but… that skirt is just plain WRONG! Not only is the style unflattering but the color is hideous. The white undershirt is weird too. It makes her look like a frumpy, old, Raggedy Ann doll.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that Haley seems right out of the early 80s??? When she sings I think of the theme songs from early James Bond movies. The hair is outdated (but forgiveable) but what is up with this dress!?!?!? I thought this was a singing competition but it seems like Haley is trying to sell something other than her voice… In fact, I can’t even remember what she sang – seriously!

Are there words to even describe Gina’s outfit from last night? The boots can stay (and thank goodness her singing was great) but what is that dress? It looks way too small and, really, it’s not all that “edgy.” I think it looks like an 80s camisole that got shrunk in the dryer. Moving on…

With her raw talent, it is hard to criticize Melinda but I have to say just one thing; the leggings or the dress – you can’t have both!

Critics can say what they want about Sanjaya but one thing cannot be denied – he definitely knows how to generate buzz. As the old saying goes – no publicity is bad publicity. Just ask Rosie O’Donnell. Her feud with Donald Trump has sent the ratings for The View through the roof!

I convinced Sanjaya has been kept on by the “Vote for the Worst” crew. Now you can even vote for him through your cell even if you can’t (or don’t want to) watch the show. VFTW on your cell
I know what you mean, Liz. I’ll be posting today on the various theories. Keep an eye out for it!
