Fox Picks “American Band” Crew
August 27, 2007 by Jeanne
I’m not sure if I am going to watch the new show, “The Next Great American Band” but I am willing to give it a chance. It’s part of the Idol family, so it could be interesting. They have announced some of the crew, so here’s the news:
“New Zealand Idol” host, Dominic Bowden, will be hosting TNGAB, “Australian Idol” judge, Ian “Dicko” Dickson (he’s like their version of Simon Cowell) has also signed on and rounding out the judging panel will be John Rzeznik (the singer/songwriter of Goo Goo Dolls fame) and Sheila E. (a phenom with drumsticks in the 80s and Prince protegé).
The show is set to air at 8pm on Fridays (wow, they really aren’t giving this show a fair timeslot, are they?) and will have an audition stage like the other Idol shows and then, the top 10 semifinalists will face off playing original music and covers from different genres. People at home will vote, the band with the least number of votes is eliminated, yada yada yada.
Is Simon Cowell trying to spread the Idol franchise love too thinly? What do you think?

I will give it a chance.
I think it is good that they are having a competition for bands, but I wonder if it is all too much. All of these different competitions are getting hard to keep track of.
I WILL WATCH!! I LOVE JOHNNIE R!!!
