France Idol “Nouvelle Star” Updates!

For my international viewers and anyone who has enjoyed my Julien videos, I am providing an update on France’s version of American Idol “Nouvelle Star.”

Pierre was eliminated from the competition last night. It’s pretty remarkable since I think he is a wayyyy better singer than Gaetane, but what do I know? Anyway, Tigane, Julien, Gaetane and Julie remain to compete for those last two spots in the finale on June 13th. I’ve got my fingers and toes crossed for Julien!!!! Mon amour!!!

Hello, I’m glad that Julien has made some impact across the ocean. You should know that since 2 weeks, the contestants sing 2 songs. You can’t miss last week’s first performance “I put a spell on you”. That was incredible! What a voice!! I don’t think it quite fair to always put forward his stage presence and forget that he has one of the most multi-colored tone voice. But it is true he’s such an artist (he majored in fine arts) that people get captivated by the whole performance (singing+staging). you should also post the link of the original version of “moi lolita” from Alizee and the astounding one he’s done out of it together with the musicians (actually he proposed his own arrangements) for comparison and if you understand french you’ll also realize he slipped his own words in the lyrics to make it his own. experience.
Ben, I think that Julien is absolutely fantastic. I’ve made sure that all of my friends have heard him. His version of “Moi Lolita” blow’s Alizee’s version out of the water. It is so much better and the lyrics are more meaningful. The song is about serious things and I think Alizee’s version is a bit silly. You can feel Julien’s pain towards the end of the song (oui, je parle français!). I will try to put a post up soon of both versions. Many of the Nouvelle Star videos are being pulled from YouTube due to copyright problem. I tried finding “I Put a Spell On You” but again, there were problems.

hey there, im french and a great fan of Julien since his first performance. Just love the way he can make an old and rubbish song into a new beautiful one and how impressive he is on stage ! Im surprised to find people over there who heard about him and who actually like him
I am from Los Angeles California. Julien is absolutely fantastic. He is so much better than most of the American Idols I have watched, and he also reminds me a lot of Jim Morrison. I know he will win. Such a great talent he has.
Give me a break. I was on holiday in France and I have seen 3 episodes. And sorry but Julien sucks and can’t sing. Good example was “I Put a Spell on You”. But also that french song he sang later was bad when he had to put emotions in it..
By the way I was not impressed by the level of all performances. Their english was terrible and also the jury is not critical enough (1 good news show)
I would like to know if there is an other article on “Nouvelle star”. I found it’s genius that we talk about the Nouvelle star because we talk about often emissions of america!!!! sorry to my english, it’s not perfect!!!! If somebody want me to talk, leave a message on site and i will answer.
I was for my work in Paris (living in Sweden) and watching tv when I ended up with Nouvelle Star. It was the evening of Julien’s Lolita performance. I was truely amazed. Great! I have kept track of the programme since then and told my friends to look at You Tube. So even here in the North people have now heard of him!
I live in Paris and although I’m not a big fan of French TV I’ve become addicted to the Nouvelle Star all because of Julien. I would really love to see him singing Prince’s Purple Rain or Little Red Corvette, and U2’s It’s a Beautiful Day or You Got Stuck in the Moment. I looked for a site where we can write sugestions to the candidates but couldn’t find one so if you know about it pleeeeease forward this message!!!
I’m French, and I didn’t really follow the show this year. I did however listen to tainted love on youtube, to see what they hype was about, and I found Julien quite horrible. Bring back Christophe!
Does anyone know what is the French Idol song that was sung by the final 10 contestants or so? it has a pretty good tune to it
Are you talking about “3e sexe” (the song they sing together .. their kind of “hymn” ?). IF this is it, the original version was from a French band called Indochine. This song was realeased in the mid-80s. Very goog song !!
