France’s Sanjaya is Awesome!
April 25, 2007 by Jeanne
Okay, on sheer entertainment, Julien, a contestant of France’s equivalent of American Idol, “Nouvelle Star” is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! Some media outlets, such as People Magazine, have dubbed him “France’s Sanjaya.” I guess VotefortheWorst and Howard Stern did that too (note my sarcasm, please)??? I think people just like uniqueness sometimes. I cannot stop watching this video of him singing, or warbling, Madonna’s “Like a Virgin.” You have to hear it to believe it. Enjoy!

Dude, that rendition of “Like a Virgin” was the best thing I’ve ever heard…I laughed so hard that I peed myself.
That was exactly my reaction.
You need to get your facts straight. He is not considered in France to be their Sanjaya. In fact, he’s currently the frontrunner. If it sounds bad to you it’s because of his poor American accident. That is very different from poor singing ability. I suggest you watch any and all of his other performances on YouTube in which he sings in French. He has an amazing voice and he’s sure to win.
Sara,
First, I got my information from several reliable news outlets, like People Magazine, and if they are spreading false rumours, you should write to them. Here’s the link:

Second, I REALLY LIKE JULIEN. He is unique and I also liked Sanjaya. Also, my husband lived in Bordeaux for two years, I am from Quebec and the girl (Stephanie Sue, my old college roommate) who wrote that first comment is from Quebec. Did you notice my name (Jeanne Dupuis)? I did watch other performances and I think he is good. I even listened to the judges’ comments because we can understand French.
I hope Julien wins. I don’t think he is the best singer in the world but he deserves to win. He is great and I told my husband that I would go to a Julien concert any day.

I’m french and I love this guy. He has such a beautiful voice ! Ok, his accent isn’t very good, but listen to him singing “Les mots bleus” or “A la faveur de l’automne”. And he’s so sexy ! Have you already heard him with his ukulele ? I think he’ll win.
Vas-y Julien, fais-nous rêver !
