Today’s Idol Face off has Canadian Idol winner Melissa O’Neil facing off against American Idol’s Chris Daughtry.

Well, both Melissa and Chris sang that song really well. So for me, it’ll come down to personal preferences.
So it’s Daughtry for me! I only wish he’d kick in his higher register a bit sooner, but still, I thought that song totally worked for him.
I think Melissa gave it that ‘one-on-one’ touch with her conversational tone…she was involved with every word she sang. Low-key but convincing.
Chris sounded like he was channeling Elvis…without the charisma..and I didn’t even finish listening to the song…it was so boring.
I vote for Melissa.
I think a big problem is I don’t think US gets Canadian Idol do they, so a lot of visitors won’t have heard of our singers. And of course most if not all Canadians get American Idol so we ALL know those singers.lol
Your right LisaLee we dont get Canadian Idol here in the US but, i have to say I really enjoy being able to see them here. I just happened to stumble on Kalan Porters audition on youtube and I LOVED it. What a gorgeous guy and what a gorgeous voice. As for this faceoff I remember when Chris sang this on AI5 and I didn’t particularly love it then and I still dont. Melissa was pretty good but lacked some ooomph, I guess. Not thrilled with either one I’m afraid. I’ll be looking forward to the next pairing!
